CBS announced plans today to buy CNET for $1.8 billion in a deal that would combine an old-school television network with one of the Internet's pioneers.
The deal would instantly give CBS a top 10 presence on the Internet. At the same time, it likely will help CNET appease shareholders who have pressed for changes amid frustrations about the company's stock performance and business execution.
"There are very few opportunities to acquire a company like CNET Networks," said CBS CEO Leslie Moonves in a statement. "CNET will add a tremendous platform to extend our complementary entertainment, news, sports, music and information content to a whole new global audience."
"We're thrilled to join CBS and combine our interactive media experience with CBS's world-class content," CNET CEO Neil Ashe added in the statement.
Under the deal, which CNET's board has approved, CBS will pay $11.50 a share for the San Francisco-based online media company. That represents a 45 percent premium to CNET's closing price on Wednesday of $7.95 a share.

Sexy sumo carwash commercial featuring music by Electric Six. Japanese SUVs just got a little sexier.
Because, how many job descriptions includes trying ‘everything-stew’ a 10 000 calorie-a-day sumo food festival of and telling a 500 pound soaped-up, diaper-wearing man to press his naked chest up against the window of the car. Hey, it’s just another day on the job, Miss Moneypenny…
And it’s hard to see how a motley crew of Sumo’s hand-washing a car wouldn’t be funny. Still, something tells me we did good in using Reservoir Dogs and the Zoolander gas-fight as inspiration, opposed to the Paris Hilton burger-wash.

This is from the U-talk boards from member U-tech:
There is no action necessary on the part of the customers, once the account is migrated to 2HD/2SD the receivers will be re-boot automatically. If an existing customer adds HD after a VHO has migrated they will need to reset their receivers as the automated process is not supported.
Living in Silicon Valley it only natural, that SF/SJ Bay Area might be next in line to get 2 HD Streams. But still, at this time ATT has not rolled out their U-Verse Voice in our area.
Now you can Watch Grass Grow 24/7 with this new iGoogle theme.

So what Kind of XP or Bios Error is this??.
One day, last week out of the blue, I needed to restart the system that running Window XP, and right after the PC displayed the normal Bios system information, the system just Froze and then I got this text only error screen. Of all of life, working with computers, I have never seen or come across an error message like is before.
Well the good news I was able to get my system back up in running
again. I figured the first thing I should do remedy the situation was
to turn off my system for about 15 minutes to let it cool down from the
heat that was built up inside my system. After this event I have never
encounter this error message again. and everything is back working as
usual as before.
My Tech Blog
I Just off the phone with ATT and Upgraded tonight to their U-Verse Max Tier Internet. No, Its not as fast as Comcast Blast tier 16/2. But I am Currently, saving over $40 a mouth over Comcast. Now if only ATT could get off their duff and add USA HD, Sci-Fi HD, TWC HD,
AMC HD, FSC HD, Smithsonian HD and CSN BA HD to their Nation HD Channel Line up.

Also Tonight, Since the cancellation of The Lab with Leo Laporte from How-to Channel and G4Tech TV, I have felt that, it was no longer necessary for me to have an Webhost to post these Episodes from the show and other Nostalgia ZDTV/Tech TV Media from the Good Old Days.
Now that I Parted ways with midPhase. I have moved my Full time blog here to Vox. And moved my Family Photos to Photoshop Express and My Public Photo to Flickr.
It is true. I got the confirmation from our alerts this morning. Only the DVR (or 1 standard STB) will be free starting 4/20/08. All other STBs will have a $5 fee. This will only happen if you order is placed after 4/20/08, anything before that will still get 3 STBs free. *hint hint* *wink wink* lol
I have just check out ATT U-Verse Website and they are only Offering 1 Free HD DVR and no more Free Turners. In the Pass I was recommending ATT U-Verse to all my Family and friends who 'for now' sticking with SDTV. But now I am going to tell them to either Stick with comcast or switch to Dish or Directv.
Even their Retail Baker Channel 9000 (Now why I don't know I getting
this channel. Since I Currently do not live in a ATT Retail Store or Do
not sell U-Verse from My Apt. and It repeats the same Message every
minutes 24/7) The New video now reflects the new 1 Free HD DVR no more
Free Turners Offers.
